How to Add a Twitter Feed to a Webpage

Adding a Twitter feed to your Web page is a way of keeping your readers updated on what you are doing. Web page owners can also let their followers know when there is new content on their Web page with a Twitter update. Using a Twitter widget allows you to add a Twitter feed to your Web page quickly. Because Twitter widgets are customizable, there is the added benefit of controlling how much space your Twitter feed takes up on your website.

Instructions

  1. Go to the Twitter website and log in.

  2. Click on the "Goodies" link at the bottom of the page

  3. Click on "Widgets." 4

  4. Select the "My Website" option.

  5. Choose a profile widget if you want to show your messages only. Choose a search widget if you want to display customized Twitter search results on your Web page.

  6. Enter your Twitter user name in the widget if you have chosen a profile widget. If you've chosen a search widget you should enter the search terms that you've chosen.

  7. Choose "loop old results" if you want old tweets to show when there are no new tweets available.

  8. Use the "Appearance" and "Dimensions" options to change the color and size of the widget. Make the widget size and color scheme appropriate for your website.

  9. Check your widget by testing your settings. 10

  10. Add the widget to your website by clicking "Finish & Grab Code" and pasting the code onto your website.
